Hi all! After a three month hiatus, I’m finally back to blogging! I figured that I owed you all an update as to why I’ve been absent from my blog. It was definitely never my intention to be away for so long, but life kind of took over and sometimes you just have to go along for the ride. (That’s a horrible excuse, I know, but in this case it’s the truth!) I have been posting a bit on Instagram, but haven’t gotten a chance to post on my blog until now.
Is #avadoesitagain a thing? Because if it’s not, it definitely needs to be. If you’ve been following me on Instagram, then you probably know that I’m a huge fan of Earthwise Beauty. Ava Zhan, the owner / founder / formulator behind Earthwise Beauty, creates the most one-of-a-kind skincare products, each uniquely special in their own right.
Sahajan. Isn’t it such a lovely name? I was recently introduced to this natural skincare brand and I immediately took a liking to its name. In Hindi, Sahajan means “intuitive,” and the brand is based on a 5,000 year old practice called Ayurveda. Whenever I hear the word “Ayurveda,” my ears always perk up because I’m so fascinated with the practice. To me, Ayurveda is like the Hindu / Indian sister to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Ayurveda shows a lot of parallels with Buddhism, and with me being both Chinese and Buddhist, I feel that it’s important to incorporate Ayurveda (and TCM) into my life.
Can you imagine a place where horses graze on acres of green pastures, wildlife wander among rows of citrus groves, and plants and vegetables grow in organic abundance? Where everything needed to nourish your body and soul comes from one special place? Well, this exists my friends, and it’s called a farm!
When it comes to clean, natural, green beauty, HollyBeth Organics is the real deal. Why, you ask? It’s because HollyBeth Organics’ entire range of 25+ products are USDA Certified 100% Organic and Leaping Bunny Certified. Not only that, all of their products are formulated with only a limited amount of ingredients. All of these factors combined would make even the strictest “purist” squeal in delight.
Welcome to ecochicbeauty! If you’ve read my about page, then you probably have a general idea of what I’m all about and what to expect from this blog. But I wanted to give you some background on why I decided to start ecochicbeauty. Several years ago, when I made the switch to green beauty, green beauty was still relatively new and niche. The green beauty community was small and close-knit and I was grateful to be a part of it.
